Application Areas
KanMed° Operatherm is mostly used in the OR area but can also be practical for warming in cardio vascular x-ray procedures, neonatal areas, etc. The range of Heating Pads and custom-made Gel Pads permits the Operatherm to be used with all your patients.
Intraoperative hypothermia must be avoided
Today’s hospitals are aware of the disadvantages that hypothermia causes for the patient, for example, post operative shivering, increased risk for infections, risk for post operative bleedings, prolonger stay in recovery, etc. Warm patients are less at risk for complications and substantial savings can be made.
Setting a new stadard in under-body-patient - Warming systems
The Operatherm warming system sets a new standard when it comes to patient safety. The X-ray translucent Heating Pads have 8 (4) small heating elements that are all individually controlled. The electronics and software are cleverly designed – the dual parallel temperature calculations for each single heating element, is just one among many safety features. The Heating Pad also has its own microprocessor that continuously monitors the output from the control unit, and that prevents that overheating occur.
The relaying of vital information
A clear display informs the user about set and selected temperature, power output, time in use, etc. All alarms will be displayed clearly. All events are saved in the memory for many years.
Annual service and safety checks are fast and simple to perform
The new Operatherm display informs the technician about all calibration values, alarm events, information like the age and use of a Heating Pad as well as service information and measurements to facilitate annual control of safety systems. Any updates or data collections can be done via the internal USB port.
